About this archive
Here are the things that get cooked for dinner, for special occasions, to make us feel better, and to show off. Some of them are recipes from my family and friends, a lot of them have stories and memories attached and most of them are adapted somehow. I'm bad with specifics so see the 'notes' posts for quantities, cobbled together instructions for stock, one-pot cooking, etc. I'm going to also include the things I make at home day-to-day. Finally...when I say something's 'Mexican' or 'Caribbean' etc, it's clearly not. I'm from Birmingham, England. It's my take on an idea of a dish, and I'm not aiming for authenticity or to make a point - it's what's for dinner, and hopefully it tastes nice.
